THE OUTCOME

Mommy said I must have been a very good supervisor, because both her and daddy's projects turned out bootifully. I was finally allowed back into the room daddy was working on, but it is now super slippery. This is how it looks now. Daddy say's he can see his face in the floor now. And he promised me now, that he will not be so mad when I leave those big presents behind. He says that now the floor is protekted from those accidents. I gave him a big face lick for caring for me.See that tiny little red thing in the middle of the floor? That is what mommy put there because I can not get my graceful self up off the floor now. Because my hind legs dont work so well, I know use my front legs entirely to lift myself up from laying down. But on this new bootiful floor, I cannot do it anymore. So I need something to get my paws to stay still. Plus mommy does not want me to scratch up daddy's work. But not to worry about the Princess, my friends, mommy ran out and bought a bigger rug to lay in the middle of the floor, just for my protection and comfort.
The project mommy was working on is now in the good smelling room. She said it is much "stoodier" for her stuff, than the old metal thing she had in there. But I am a bit confused, because she cleaned it all up before she brushed the smelly color onto it, then she wiped it and made it look all dirty again.
Sometimes hoomans make no sense! I am so glad I am a doggie and dont need to attempt such outrageous projects.

SASHA THE SUPERVISOR

It started happening early in the morning! Mommy and daddy started moving the furnishings around again. I was getting real nervous. Daddy finally made me go lay in my safe place. I made sure they heard QUITE OFTEN how upset I was by this!
When he finally allowed me out, this is what I discovered. I could not get from room to room. Mommy and daddy had to keep going out the front of the lair, and then I would hear their voices behind it.
I would be able to see them a little bit, but could not smell them. That really concerned me, so I put up quite the fuss, until Mommy invited me out back to supervise.

Daddy had this huge machine that made a lot of noise, and he kept walking around the room, but wouldnt allow me in. I think my friend Mango may have gone through something like this too. "Daddy, you missed a spot over there in the corner. Geez... good labor is hard to find these days!"

And mommy was working too. She kept putting some smelly stuff on some boxes. I had to stay very close to make sure she did her job right.

" Um, mom, I think you missed a spot on your nose. Here, let me lick it for you!"
I'm still not sure what all the fuss and work was about, but I think I will find out soon.

HAPPY TAILS

It came, it came! Mommy saw what was in the mailbox and went and got me. Look, it is here! We even checked the label to make sure it was THE BOOK!
Hurry mommy, open it! I just gotta see it in print!
It is! It is the book I am in! I can't beleive it! I am an arther! The books is by a company called HAPPY TAILS. They write books about rescued doggies like me, and about all different types of breeds. The proceeds of the books, go to rescue's to help save more doggies. There are a lot of stories in the book. If you want to help other doggies, go to their website: HAPPYTAILS and order yourself a book too.

Mommy found my chapter right away. I can't believe it. Out of all the bootiful pitchers of me, she picks the one showing me being a bad girl. uummmpphh! But it still makes me famus. Here I am on page 29, for the whole world to read about how I was saved by mommy and daddy. And how I tot them how to be good owners of a Great Dane.
This is my publicity pichure. I am pawtographing the first book! Do you want my pawtograph?
Also, my foster brother Pedley got a little famous. We havent heard from him since he left us, but he is still in our hearts.
Mommy wants to go read the book now. She said will probably need the box of sniffie cloths, to wipe her leaking eyes while she reads it.

HAPPY FOUR DAY OF JEWLY

Every four day of jewly, mommy and daddy get excited and put out lots of chairs in front of our lair. They dont let me come out and protect them, but I hear all kinds of noises going on. I am usually a good girl and dont bark. So mommy said this year I could come out with them and see all the happenings.
First they set up chairs and get lots of liquid ready.

Then they put all these colored things around them. They even put one on me this year!

There were a lot of hommans walking around and we did a lot of watching. Mommy even sat and relaxed for a little bit. I kept a close eye out for any other furries. If any passed by, mommy would take me inside for a few minutes, to keep me out of trouble.

Then a bunch of loud noises started happening. Some hoomans walked by holding a pole with a peice of material hanging off it. All the hoomans around me stood and held their chests. I was worried everyone was getting sick, but after the man with the pole walked by, everyone sat down again. Then more noise came and all kinds of things went by in front of our lair. It was pretty fun and relaxing to watch. Mommy kept yelling and clapping. I kept an eye on her to make shure she was ok.

Mommy and daddies good friend is a hooman that goes to peoples house everyday and drops off stuff. The kind that I bark at. So when his hooman friends drove by, everyone around me started clapping and making noise!
After everything was all done and the people started going away, daddy's friend let his little hooman try to ride me. This is baby Samual. Mommy says this is the first time someone put drool on ME!
Well, mommy and daddy are leaving now to go watch the big barks in the sky. I just had my dinner so I am going to go sleep now, until they get back home.

Daddy's Family

Daddy is originally from a place far far away, call Nu Yourks. He grew up there and said he saw a lot of that white cold stuff, until he was a teen human, then he left for other sites. Most of his pack ended up moving to sunny Kaliforna, and daddy followed them. But his sissy stayed behind in the cold white stuff.
Recently she came out to visit the pack, so the whole pack came to meet me too. Daddy's sissy is crrraaaazzzyyy with her flashy. Mommy remembers how shy I used to be around the flashy, well, you can tell that is not the case no longer.
If you look closely, you can see the top of my head trying to get in with the pack. This is Daddy's niece, his aunty and uncle and sissy.
This is daddy's neice. He said she was just a little pup in New Yourks when he left. Then she grew up and came to Kaliforna too. She has grown to be a pretty pup. I was trying real hard to get in the pikchur with daddy, but it still didnt work.Daddy told me that not only was she his niece, but she was my kuzin. Shannon finally let me pose with her. She was really nice to me. This is mommy with daddy's sissy. Her name in Ginny. Mommy was so glad to get a 2nd sissy when she married daddy. Can you beleive Ginny has a grand pup? She looks too young.Ok all you smart doggies. Look very closely at the pikchur with daddy in it. Do you notice the REAL reason for the pikchur? Do you see it, there in front of him? Yep, you got it, all that yummy stuff? boy, I tell you, it smelled so good. But guess what? Did I get any? Of course not!! Nope, not one taste! Member the stuff mommy put on my nose recently, then let me eat some of daddy's barkday cake? So lets take a vote now. Do you furries agree with me, that it was a guilt token? Mommy felt guilty the very next day, so she made sure I got some ckae, since I didnt get the meat yummies! What do you think?

HAPPY BARKDAY DADDY!

Today is Daddy's barkday. Mommy made him a special treat. Daddy let me help him put the fire out on his cake. Mommy said he was too old to have too many fires on his cake, so she only put one on. I wanted to lick it out, but daddy said NO! Then he went to play with his new toy. Mommy says it is a bug zapper. Daddy was pretty excited to try it out. But dont you know it... no bugs came around. Finally something flew by and daddy swung. We all heard a loud "zzzap!" and mommy and daddy clapped.
Daddy went on the hung for more flying things. He is pretty happy about his new toy!
Then he took a big piece of the treat. I was worried I wouldnt get any.

But then mommy said it was healthy for me too. It has carrots and apples in it. So she made me do a trick before I could have any. Then she...
put it on my nose!!! Mommy, that was just plain MEAN!
I'll show you. I got it right off!

Then she let me lick the all the good stuff off.

IN MEMORY...

Regular light-hearted blogging is being interupted today in honor of Tom Coleman.

He was killed last week chasing a bad guy, when he collided with a big rig on his motorcycle. Mommy and daddy do not know him personally, but they want to honor him for helping to protect our town from bad guys. Today while mommy was out in the big green machine, she happened upon a line of his co-workers, heading to a memorial being held in his honor today. Mommy didnt mind being held up in traffic, as it gave her time to pray for his family and thank him for his service as his coffin drove by. Mommy's eyes are starting to leak in appreciation for what his family lost, so he could make our town safe.
Mommy says there is not many things more touching than a line of uniforms honoring the fallen. Especially when the life is lost in a selfish act of saving others. Please pray with mommy for this mans family!

The California Highway Patrol officer who was killed Friday morning during a pursuit in Redlands was identified as Tom Coleman, an officer in the San Bernardino division of the agency, officials said.
Coleman, a seven-year veteran of the department, was killed about 6:30 a.m. during a pursuit that began minutes earlier when he tried to pull over a Ford Focus on Mountain View Drive near the 210 Freeway and the driver wouldn't stop, said Mario Lopez, a spokesman for the Inland division of the CHP.
Within a few minutes, Coleman crashed into a big rig and the suspect continued on, crashing moments later with another car near the Citrus Plaza shopping center. The four people inside the Ford Focus were arrested.
On Friday morning, a blue and silver CHP helmet lay on the side of the intersection of San Bernardino Avenue and Alabama Street, where Coleman was killed. Part of a mangled motorcycle lay nearby. Coleman's body was draped in an American flag, which was shrouded by a red tarp.
“It was a very short pursuit," Lopez said. "It happened no more than one or two minutes later."

CHP Officer Daniel Hesser said Coleman was traveling using lights and sirens. Coleman, a married father of two, was declared dead at the scene.
[Updated at 1:23 p.m.: Jose Acosta, of Fontana, who was driving a delivery truck and witnessed the accident, said he grabbed a fire extinguisher and put out the flames that consumed the burning motorcycle. He said Coleman was thrown to the pavement and lay there unconscious. A man ran from a nearby school and attempted to administer CPR to Coleman. He said the man began crying when he realized Coleman could not be revived. Then the fire trucks and ambulances arrived.]

Slow, but still here...

BARK! Sorry we have been incognito for a bit. Mommy says I havent been doing any active noteworthy things to take pictures of to show others, so the camera has been staying put away.

The only noteworthy thing I did recently, mommy is embarrased to report. I just couldnt help myself. Mommy left out some pita bread and thought it was far enough back on the counter to be safe. But my curious nose found it and knew it was put there just for me. Yep, daddy came home and found the 1/2 eaten loaf, and called mommy to report. Then when mommy came home, it was to that familiar smell, followed by the familiar disgusting sight. Definatly NOT something she wanted to put on cameral. In three rooms I left her some pretty packages. She was nice and didnt get mad at me, but since she had visitors coming over in a few minutes, she was like a whirlwind, opening windows and doors and doing a lot of cleaning.

After she put me in my safe room for the visit, she came back to find the new packages I left her. She was still a nice mommy, but I sensed her frustration. I cant help it. It just doesnt want to stay in.

The next day, gave me and my beds a nice bath. We were all clean, and we walked next door to take some time to dry off and say hi to our friendly neighbor. Uh oh... it hit again. And I left quite a lot of packages for the neighbor. Mommy was horrified! The neighbor was nice and offered to hose down his own driveway. Then a couple hours later, I left some packages for daddy (mommy said she refused to open any more packages).

Mommy says she understands I am an old girl, plus I ate something I should not have. She gave me some icky treats that will hopefully make all the packages a little more predictable. Our fingers and paws are crossed.

On that note, we want to end with a good thought, so here is some playtime with me and daddy. He likes to make me dance.

We dont know why the sound is gone. Just toss in a bunch of growling noises!

BROWN NOSE?

Mommy called me brown nose. Daddy said "Now, that is not very nice". Then he looked closer and this is what he saw...
Where I have I been? Im not telling!
But if it gets daddy closer to me, than it was worth it.
I didnt do it, I didnt, I tell you!
BARK! I am INNOCENT until proven guilty!
Sasha, the Princess!
Note from mommy: This is the same spot I saw her laying in a few weeks ago. Hmmm, was she really missing Max, or hiding something? Inquiring minds wanna know!

PLEASE... NO AUTOGRAPHS

I am excited to announce the following news...

The Princess will be famous!

I will be featured in a new book coming out about rescued Great Danes.

Yep, mommy submitted my story and I got chosen along with a lot of other rescued Danes.

Even my foster brother for a short time, Pedley, will get mentioned in the book.

I am honored to be selected and want to thank...

All my blog friends for inspiring mommy to write

Mommy and Daddy for rescuing me

And Boy Wonder and Ms. T for saving me so mommy and daddy found me

Thank you, thank you... hold the applause

BARK! Sasha the Princess

Note from mommy: What "ms humble" meant to say is that we are excited to be picked among so many other rescued dogs. Please excuse her royal "snobyness" comments. She will still be eating the same dryfood after the book comes out in June. Sales of Happy Tails will support many dog rescues. There are many to choose from if you decide to purchase a book.

WHAT IS DADDY DOING?

Daddy came home smelling funny. Then I found the evidence!

Meet Sadie!
Note from mommy: My friend got a new kitten and I had to go welcome her home. Sadie was playing and playing for almost 2 hours as my friend and I visited. She would come to me on occasion and chase a toy I teased her with, then she would go play on her own. As soon as Scott came in to pick me up, she made a friend. Sadie loved Scott instantly (all cats do!). I had to remind him he was petting a kitten, not a great dane, after she ran away from him a couple times. As soon as he settled down, she was all over him. It was quite cute to see the big hands holding this tiny little kitten, and petting her to sleep. Awwwwww... makes me want another one!

Here Kitty Kitty...

Mommy somehow got a kitty into her puter...

Turn up loud to hear with human ears! Mommy says Max did the same thing when he first heard our kitty, before she went over rainbow bridge.

BATHING BEAUTY!

The water stopped falling from the sky and lots of wind is blowing. It brings lots of smells to my territory, so I had to go out and sniff them all, and enjoy the warm dirt! Note from mommy: Oh, when I saw this my heart strings were tugged. I know this is my heart speaking, and not my head. When Max was sick, he would go into this corner and lay in the sun, just like Sasha is doing in the picture. There is still an indentation in the dirt where he laid (the arrow is pointing to it). This morning, Sasha just got up and went out the open door on her own (very rare if we are not in the yard ourselves). When I went looking for her, she was sniffing in this spot, then pawed it a bit, then settled down. At first, I thought she was actually laying in the Max's spot, but when I went to take a picture, I noticed she was next to it. My heart has healed, but there is still a HUGE soft spot there, and a tear or two escaped. Man, I miss that guy! I guess Sasha does too!

Have a good day- Sasha and Max's MOMMY!
